Residents in Mansfield are currently being consulted regarding a proposed selective licensing scheme by the local council. This initiative aims to enhance the quality of privately rented accommodation in the area by requiring landlords to secure licenses for each of their rental properties. 

The licensing scheme will enforce minimum standards for accommodation, ensuring that all rented properties meet specific criteria that promote safety, cleanliness, and overall livability.
